HAM AND NEVIS MAASDAM TOASTIE - pan fried !

Quick and easy winter warmer!

Ok so if you haven't been making your toasties this way, you have been doing it all wrong!

Fear not, once you taste this it is going to blow your mind how easy and delicious a toastie can be. Ignore those who feel a toastie isn't flash enough as it really can be with the right ingredients and of course some of our  Nevis Maasdam thrown in the mix.

Ingredients

Softened butter

2 slices of thick bread ( great to use older bread if you have it )

1 tsp of Sour cream

1/2 tsp of Wholegrain mustard

1 thick slice of Ham (off the bone is best)

Nevis Maasdam cheese to taste ( as much as you can handle )

 

Method

Spread a nice thick layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread. 

Now mix your mustard and sour cream and spread on the unbuttered sides of your bread slices.

Lay down your ham  and then a nice thick layer of the Maasdam and top with the other bread slice.

Your buttered sides should be facing out !

Preheat a non-stick pan and then gently heat , searing for 3 - 4 minutes or until your cheese is melted and your toastie has a nice golden crispy outside!

 

YUM!

This toastie is best served with your favourite fruit chutney by a fire, whilst looking out a window at the rain falling with your favourite wine in hand ..... perfect

On that note I might just make one now ...
